This fundraising event is an opportunity to join us for a day of movement and creativity as we explore the theme of the goddess, with all proceeds going to support the charity Womankind Worldwide
Ruth (ruthelizabethjones.com) is an experienced ceramicist and teacher and is fascinated by ancient ceramics and representations of the feminine form, she is based in Moniaive and makes a range of hand built and thrown work. Kerry finds inspiration for her yoga teaching in the creative power of nature and the cycle of the seasons, offering yoga classes that connect students deeply with the experience of movement and breath. We offer this workshop as an opportunity for women to connect with their inner nature, their creative power and each other.
Event donation: £40, low wage/unwaged: £20. Places are limited, please book in advance.
The workshop will include:
· Informal discussion: Ruth and Kerry will explore the theme of the goddess in prehistoric sculpture, form, yoga philosophy and movement, offering inspiration for your experience of the day
· Yoga practices: exploring the goddess through movement, breath and meditation
· Clay workshop: create your own clay goddess; this will be fired by Ruth with arrangements for collection
The workshop will be held at the comfortable Tynron Hall. There are buses to and from Dumfries and plenty of parking space. Teas and coffee will be provided, please bring lunch.
